Opti goin out?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I figured I'd shoot it out anyways. First off, the code from our scanner is Random Multiple Misfire. Now, the symptoms... I can tell there is a horrible misfire, through almost the entire RPM range, power surges, etc. As well as, when I'm at a stop and in drive, the RPM's will start to dip down, I'd say anywhere from 500-600. My only mods are SSW Y-pipe and a Flowmaster muffler. It's been eating me away for almost a month now. The wires and plugs are gettin changed this weekend, so hopefully that will cure it. Thanks.

How many miles are on the opti? I had similar symptons when my opti went bad. Have you had issues with the car randomly shutting off?

It's got around 93k miles on it and the we've had it since '97. I'm almost certain it's never been replaced and the car hasn't ever shut off on me.... yet.

Plugs and wires that you already have planned are the best place to start.
