Good video on how the opti works internally, maybe can help you figure it out.

Got it running today...
Turned out to be a weak coil. It had spark from the coil wire, but by the time it was at the tip of my wires nothing. It would not jump the gap on my spark tester, .050... however by off chance I stuck a plug I had laying around with a tight gap and it did have a very weak spark.
My coil was rattling a little bit in the cage it is fused to.
So I went to the scrapyard for some Saturday afternoon fun and found 2 coils from 99 4.3 Trail blazers that looked similar. Also got one from a 2500 full size pick up. Cannot remember which coil I used, but while I was at it I also grabbed a few ICM's from the same vehicles that looked identical. It cost me $15 for all that stuff!
So now I can return the ICM I bought for $100 to the parts store, since two of the three I had gotten from the scrap yard seem to work well. The original ICM definetly made the car harder to start(cranking longer).
I plugged in the original ICM and it took a few more seconds to start, when I plugged in the new one, or the one from the scrap yard, it starts right up you cannot even hear it crank really. The old ICM was definetly making it harder to start.
Thank you for the help and suggestions! Hope this helps some others!
