yeah it's the new thing now all the kids are doing it

BTW this all is ran off a LS1 pcm so tunning is much better and faster with this setup.

I just read about this in GMHTP "Hot parts". How was the fitment? Was it an easy install?
Are you happy with how the car works with the LS ECM.
It ALSO looks CLEAN!!!!!

First off the quality of the parts that EFI Connections are making is top notch. You almost hate to have it all covered up.

The install will vary by what year and setup you have currently.

94-95Cars that have stock/single roller timing chains will only need to run a 96-97 front cover and pull off the lower timing gear and install a 96-97 crank key way. Loosen up the rockers to get the timing chain lose.

96-97 Will only need to pull off the old crank sensor ring and install the new one. Change the crank sensor and not have to mess with the valves etc.

If you can install a cam in a LT1 then this swap is very easy.

There will be a very detailed write up in maybe a month, Explaining how to pin the harness and where wires will go. It's something that most people can do that has some minor wiring skill.

I can not tell you how happy I am that that the car works with the LS1 pcm. I had a problem pulling past 5,500 rpm's. Now I can crank it past 6,500 with no problems. Tuning on the car is so much better, faster.

Just some things to think of if your thinking you might want to run this setup. It's not going to be cheap if you can't find your coils and pcm cheap.

You will need to buy the following parts
24X kit
Harness/build your own (if you build your own you will need pcm ends and gm sensor plugs)
LS1 pcm
LS1 coils
Custom length plug wires
96-97 front cover
Single row timing chain (if you were running a double roller like I was)

Now after all that and the results I am having it was well worth it to me. My car has not "been right" for years. Plus now I can clean my engine bay without fear of junking an opti

Have you figured out if the ABS will still work or not yet?

Why would it not, ABS has nothing to do with the opti...I'm sure it will work with LS-1 pcm or not?

When using a red and blue LS1 pcm we have not had any issues with the ABS or the trans. I even locked up the brakes to see if the ABS still worked and it did. Low traction light came on and it did it's thing. Bad part is it kinda hard for me to lock up the brakes with drag radials on the front and bare C5 brake upgrade lol...

On a side note we were able to lock the converter in 3rd gear. Something that we could never get the LT1 pcm to do before at wot.

Is your car an automatic? It seems like read in the thread at LS1tech that there would have to be some tranny mods to make it function with a '95 and older 4l60e.

Congrats on the beautiful install!

I like the LS1 air box idea and the clean coil mount configuration.

I know this isn't exactly LT1 specific, but it's still the same 24x system...on Friday we installed one of our new electronic throttle bodies on our test vehicle. It's a great add-on to the 24x system to provide integrated cruise control, no throttle cable, and faster idle adjustment response. Any of our 52mm, 58mm, or Mono-Blade electronic throttle bodies will fit the LT1. Installation requires the 24x system and LS1/LS6 Corvette accelerator pedal and throttle module (TAC).

The engine pictured below is a Gen1 SBC (has a distributor). The 24x installation is very similar to the LT1, but with a Vortec timing cover and a Vortec distributor (for the 1x cam signal).

We initially did our prototyping with a RamJet 350 to use the LS1/LS6 Corvette electronic throttle body (pictured below). It worked very well, so we kicked off the production of the (first ever) TPI/LT1 electronic throttle bodies (pictured above).
