while putting the opti on one of the bolts just broke right off with little pressure applied while tightening(was only half way in) there wasnt any resistance or anything...just broke off like it was nothing. Anyway, is there actually a part number for these things, or are they a size that I can just pick up from the hardware store?

 

Match it up at any decent hardware store.

 

If you DL the Camaro parts list (I think it's on Shoebox's site) it gives you the dimensions on most every bolt on the f-body. Very handy little thing to have.

You can call the dealer and they can tell you.

 

thanks! as many times as I have been to his site, I cant believe I have never seen that. 1/4"-20 x 2.75 is the bolt size just in case anyone searches for this later on.

 

Had the same problem myself, just snapped easy. Thanks for hte size tho-, hooray for Grade 8 bolts.

 

i know i brought this thread back from the dead but...

the opti bolts are 1/4 x 20 x 2"

 

FYI. If you get a new MSD Opti, they come with new allen socket-head bolts. Which fit in the recessed billet CNC aluminum distributor housing.
