Which Opti

Ok my car is driving and running poor under hard acceleration. I have concluded that it is the opti spark. I have a 1994 z28 camaro i was wondering if i needed the vented or non vented. And how long does it take to replace. Also where can i buy one of these on line. And are there any other parts i need like new gaskets or what not thank you ,

Since your car is a 94 you will need a non-vented opti. You will need. You will need waterpump gaskets.

~$300 for a new GM non-vented optispark.

Either of these guys can supply what you need:

Dal Slabaugh: 877-448-5451
email: lockitup@bright.net
VanDevere Buick/Pontiac/Olds Akron, OH

or

Jason Cromer: 877-726-8295 or 850-243-8826 (direct parts dept ph #)
email: gmparts@samtaylor.com
Sam Taylor Buick/Cadillac Ft. Walton Beach, FL

I hope you have ruled out plugs and wires first.

I would recommend you look into doing this. Its what I plan on doing when I replace my non vented opti soon. You can practice on your old opti so you don't mess up the new one. This will be cheaper than going vented, and I have heard it is just as good. Good luck.

The suggestion I offered still requires you to replace the opti. What it does is make a non vented opti spark vented, which gives you the benefits of a vented opti, without having to pay the extra costs to convert.

I have heard this is the way to go, but I haven't used it. I have read many threads on this subject and this seems to be one of the best I've seen. Hope this helps....
