Angry opinions on what might be holding me back

Hi guys, I wanted to get your opinions on why I haven't been able to get a better et. Mods are in the sig. First I ran this combo with 4.10's and the best et I got was a 12.74 @ 109.5 w/1.9 60 ft. I also have a string of 12.8's with same 60 ft's or worse. I switched my gears to 3.73's and interesting enough, I'm running pretty much the same but with a higher mph. 12.87 @ 111.69 w/2.0 60 ft. I also have a string of 12.8's with this combo. I'm using drag radials at 18 psi and have the qa1 shocks with a 1 setting in the front and a 2 setting in the rear. I also had the car dynoed by pcm4less a year ago and gained only 1rwhp and 1rwtq. I'm stumped With bolt ons and slp shorties, I used to run 13.12-13.30's with 3.73 and 4.10's w/1.9 60 ft's. I should be running at least 12.50's right now. What gives? Thanks in advance.

I was hoping to run better with what I have now. Obviously I need better traction and a better rear. That will be my next investment. I went to the track today and ran my best et to date, 12.66@112.69and a 2.01 60ft. Now we're getting somewhere, launched at higher rpm and temps were a little cooler, around 70. Best part is, I raced my buddy's cammed and ported head ls1 on our way home and he could not pull away from me He ran a 12.20 with his combo today. I definitely felt pretty good, he must be pissed that an lt1 kept up with him.

Changing the instant center of the car will go a long way to help you step up the times. I would recommend LCA relocation brackets, stiffer LCAs like Lakewood offers, a shorter torque arm like Spohn offers and at least one air bag in the right rear spring. Later you should add triangulated subframe connectors and a strut tower brace that is 3 point also.

You should be careful lowering the pressure in radials as this tends to decrease the contact patch by making the contact surface bow (concave) upward.

So, pcmforless, tuned your car?? for the cam/heads,LT's,etc?? I would get rid of the Hypertech, and get a custom tune...that might be your problem. Also, do a little weight reduction. I'd drop the psi in the DR's to about 15psi.

slopokrodrigez, I have hotchkis LCA's on the car now and subframe connectors. I was thinking about LCA relocators, prob install them when I change the rear, along with the torque arm. flyinz, I had the car dynoed a year ago, when I first put everything together and pcm4less did the tune. The first pull with the hypertech was 377.7 and 352 right off the street. This cam is very streetable, probably the reason why the hypertech worked so well. With the dyno tune it pulled 377.9 and 353.4 tq. the power curves were very similiar also. Right now I'm running his tune on the car, I'm trying to see which tune works better at the track.
