Opinions on this valvetrain combo?

This is for my 383...12:1 compression, barely cleaned up heads with a 5 angle valve job. I miss my 234/242 cam that I had in there originally and I'm wondering if I can get some performance back by bumping up the lift on my current cam. The car currently runs 12.60s at 109 MPH (with traction issues)...I'd like to drop that down to very low 12s if possible.

The cam I have in there now is a 218/224 in a 112 LSA with 0.528"/0.537" lift (with 1.6 rockers). I'm thinking about switching to 1.7 rockers, so the cam will end up having 0.561"/0.570 lift. I already have a set of K800 valve springs installed, so I'm thinking they should be enough to handle the extra lift (they used to handle 0.575"/0.598" with no issues on the old cam). I also have a set of Comp R lifters coming since my OEM Crane replacements aren't doing so hot any more.

So, I guess I'm just wondering whether stepping up to 1.7 rockers will be worth it, and if the increased lift without increased duration will be a problem. Any opinions?

What lift are K800s good to?

You need a spring good upto .600 lift.

They'll handle 0.600" lift with no problems.
