Opinions needed on Water Pump Seal - pics inside

After opti and water pump install, had to tear down again cause I had an oil leak. The seal was definitiely damaged during install (don't know how I did that). Does this look sufficient to cause a leak? We are talking about probably a couple of dozen drips after a drive.

I would replace that seal. It's chewed up.

Yes, that is definately enough damage to wreck the seal. The 'lip' at the front is the part that actually seals, and needs to be intact all the way around the shaft.

Most likely installed incorrectly or not lubed, There is a reeason. Replace it NOW.
