opinions on hooker super comp shortie headers

opinions on hooker super comp shortie headers

well i have a 97 camaro that was totaled and i rebuilt - needs to go through inspection but my exhuast manifold is cracked. so i was thinking abuot picking up a set of hooker super comp shortie headers ceramic coated. to bolt in place

these

hows the quality on these and anyone have any better suggestions?

They are single cat headers for 93-95 so you will have to convert to single cat or no cat at all.
They are ok headers if you need a CARB E. O. number, otherwise there are better headers out there, like AS&Ms or longtubes.
Quality wise the headers are fine but the fit on my y pipe should have been better, it needed modification to fit properly.

umm u sure - 1995-97 Camaro Z/28, Pontiac Firebird Formula/Trans Am, LT1 350 w/Dual Catalytic Converters - and reason staying away from longtubes and such is cause i have to go through a salvage inspection. they wont allow longtubes to go through so i need a set of shorties that will essentially hook up to y-pipe with slight modification ..

anyone reccomend any others?

I HAVE A 97 FIREBIRD LT1 AND I JUST BOUGHT SET OF HOOKER SHORTIES THEY BOLT UP YOU JUST HAVE TO CUT FLANGE AND REPLACE ITH THERE ON PASS. SIDE

The collectors are very restrictive....the opening isnt much bigger than the stock manifolds. If you open them up about 1/4" all the way around with a die grinder you will see better gains.
