Opinion's?

Just wanted to share what i am doing. And what you guys think it should ruffly put out for HP.. Here goes..

Stock Crank w/ARP Main Studs
Stock 97 PM rods w/ARP bolts
All new bearings cam,rods,mains
Mahle Forged Pistons & Rings set part # SBC550000F05

2.00in/1.56ex Ported and Polished heads ( close to the LE2's but i'm guessing, read below )
ARP head bolts
Fel-pro .039 head gaskets
CC 306
1.6 RR's
Isky adjustable guide plates
Comp hardened pushrods
MadZ28 base tune untill i can get it dyno'd.

At first i was just going to put the heads and cam in.. but the more i thought about it. I didn't trust the stock bottom end w/115k on it. We'll i mainly didn't trust the stock rod bolts.. And since i have to take the rods out to replace the bolts, might as well replace all the rest of the vital's.

I'm hoping she'll run well. Don't have any flow #'s for the heads. Got them for almost nothing. Came off a running car, and the owner didn't know squat about them.. But they cleaned up nice and tested ok.. Look identical to the LE2's.. Soo well see..
Let me know what you guys think..
Thanks Brad

im gonna be honest with you, even if they "look" like the LE2, if you got them for cheap, they probably arent going to perform that well. I'd guess 360rwhp...

390RWHP if compression is 11.5:1 or better and the tuner is good.

390?? He got the heads for close to nothing, doesnt have any flow numbers, AND the owner didnt know anything about them. i think 390 is way too generous (not tryin to be mean here, just realistic)

Hey and if you DO have a great set of heads, more power to ya, that'd be awesome

He does not know ANYTHING about the heads, except that they have larger valves. They could be incredible heads that would make lots of power, OR they could be complete crap. Theres no way to tell, thus there is really no way to make a guess as to how much power he makes. Ok heres my final guess lol:

350rwhp-390rwhp...

The heads came off 97LT1 with a vortech SC on it.. Kid bought the car with everything on it. He spun a rod bearing. Pulled the motor, bought a autozone stock replacement and just dropped it in.. He didn't want the the old motor out of it and i gave him a $100 for it.. And did a few things for him on his car.

I'll take some pics of the heads and post them up.. The porting looks really good. No one here in town has a flow beach soo i can't get them flowed unless i send them somewhere..

He bought the car like that down in Texas.. I just looked the casting # up and it say this..

"10128374...92-up...350..........Gen.II LT1, 53cc, angle plug,
aluminum, reverse flow cooling,
175/68cc ports"

Which cars has 53cc chambers?
I know the LT1 f-body's where 58cc and the LT4's where 54.4cc. I've never heard of 53cc..

I believe that's what Lloyd mentioned also, but that was a few years ago so I might be wrong. (But highly unlikely)
