Open headers and o2 sensors
Open headers and o2 sensors
my plan is to put a cutout after each collector for some open header sound. id probably only uncap it occassionally.
is this gonna **** with my o2 sensors and make the car dump lots of fuel into the motor?

IMO, running exhaust sounds better than open headers. you probably wont pick up much if any over a 3" catback with no cats. if you ran duals with an equalizer of some sort you might pick up an extra 5-15hp.

is this redundant with my no cats/open borla setup? will i actually notice a difference with the cutouts right at the collectors? i thought it would pick up some power and lots of sound right?

. But! with stock heads and cam you'll definitely lose some rwhp due to lack of backpressure, I lost 2/10ths in the 8'th mile and the same in my 60' times with the coutouts open. Again it sounds great and when you do a set of AFR heads and a beasty cam running open headers the backpressure is not an issue any longer....especially if you go ahead and do a stroker
oh yeah...this setup had no effect on the 02 sensors. It was a gamble I took with this setup knowing I'd probably lose backpressure but I knew the stroker was in it's future. My exhaust was setup with the future in mind therefore.
