ok i'm going to be getting a 1995 Z/28 with a LT1 guy said that is lost spark! not got car home yet,been on here reading, an some say dist, an than i read about icm, an than i seen some one said crank sensor, now do the LT1 have a crank sensor seperate or is it built into dist. ? an where is the icm located on the camaro LT1 ? the cars a nice looking car an i've been wanting get my hands on one for a couple years!!! an glad i found this site

95s have no crank sensor, but 96-97s that do have them don't use them for spark delivery (only misfire detection). All sensing needed for spark is done with the opti. It's really impossible to troubleshoot a car that is not in your possession. Everything would just be a guess.

To test the OPTI go to the main LT1 page and look at the 'stickies' at the top of the page. You'll see one outlining the method to figure out what's going on.
Before you get too far into this, have the computer scanned and write down every code. Come back with the codes and we'll help...the generic readings from the scanners usually don't apply to our cars. Again, shoebox has the answers...
