Question Only 1 fan working

Hey CZ28, I only have the pass side fan working on my 97Z. My buddy came over yesterday and we installed an SLP manual fan switch (car was running a little hot & wanted one anyways) & only the pass side fan just came on again. So we then started the car & let it run to 160 degrees and again only the pass side fan kicked on. We also turned the a/c on and the same results. I then reversed the (plug in's) for the fans below and then the drive side fan finally came on. It blew all kinds of dust in my face, so I know that it hasen't been working for a while. So I now know that BOTH fans do work. WHAT COULD I POSSIBLY DO OR CHECK NEXT TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM???? (This was happening even before we installed the fan switch!) Thanks ALL, Brian

Have you made sure all your fan relays are good?

Close the relay for the 2nd fan, and see if you get 12V at the fan harness connector. Sounds like the problem is between the relay and the fan.

"Problem solved"! We went through the service manual & ended up swapping the (air pump relay) to the spot where the (coolant fan #1 relay) is & now both fans come on with the fan switch & also when the car gets up to 160 degrees!!!!!! Thanks for the help guy's, Brian
