Once again,many thanks Shoebox
Well,my drivers side window started acting up last week(Going only half way up,then stopping, waiting for a bit, then it would continue),Checked the switch to see if it was broken,it was ok.So I called Autozone here in Calif.,and they wanted $77.00 for a new motor,Kragen auto wanted the same.Got a remanufactured one from Napa for $56.36 and got a 10% discount for using my AAA card.
I didn't have a big ol clamp to support the window,so I cut a V on the top of two plastic pipes used for the sprinklers(pvc 3/4") and supported the window in two places.
I also used 3M White greese Spray(lithium lube),and the spray was a lot easier than using a long screwdiver to apply the stuff like I did before
I printed out your photo's of the window motor replacement, and brought them to the door being repaired, couldn't do this from memory.(I tried)
Couldn't find one of the door panel screws,so I tore the door off and found it stuck to the magnet of the speaker.
Anyway, the window works great like a regular car thanks to you.
Sorry for the long post, but I got a feeling of accomplishment when it was fixed.
Thanks again.
Oh ya,Idisconnected the negative wire on the battery so as to not burn up the bulbs inside the car,and ware the battery down.
Total time---About 4 hours with all the interuptions (neighbors ect.)
