OMG NOT GOOD! Broke a waterpump bolt! What to do?
Well I was tighening down the bolt on the very top driver side of the waterpump, and it snapped off..the rest of the bolt is inside. I have all of the other bolts on there so im not sure if its actaully holding the pump in there or not. What should I do? I have to drive this car by tomorrow to get to school. Should I just tighen down the rest of the bolts and hope it holds? Its the top bolt, so maybe it will be ok?
God I cant believe this happened!!!!!!!!! I dont know what to do.

i suggest you find another ride to school tomorrow. You have NO friends?
No public bus or a taxi for a day, a bicycle.
Do the job right. Maybe if would hold enough to make it to school tomorrow, but i doubt it. You don't want to fill it up with coolant and then have that nasty stuff leak all over OR if it doesn't leak out you'll still have to drain it again to remove the pump housing. You will also probably have to buy new gaskets if you let it leak. Don't put your car at risk, find another way. It's only 5:20, you should be able to find somewhere with a bolt still open tonight.
Chances are it is still protruding from the block and if you remove the other bolts you'll be able to turn out whats left of the offending bolt with a pair of vice grips.
good luck

I brole two of them on my old car(buick) and left them without any problem for as long as I owned the car, but the only way to find out for sure is to put coolant in. like the others said, remove it and put a new one in. If they look all worn then replace all, and don't overtighten them, they don't need much maybe 30-40 pound-ft torque

Yo, don't risk your ride. You don't want that bolt to come out and leak coolant all over your opti and crap...or to get pushed back into the block and damage something internal..or possibly find it'sway into your WP Fan and damadge that. I don't reccomend drilling it out...you don't want shavings in your coolant system...if I recall when your WP is completely removed you should be able to feel the back of the bolt. If you stick your finger through the flow channel. Just hold the back of the bolt and twist it out with some vice grips...or drill a "Tiny" hole in the bolt and drive a screw through it and manuever it out that way....good luck but don't drive it till it's 100%.

The bolt isnt gonna come loose on its own if he put enough torque on it to break it. Not gonna get pushed into the block either....it has threads....
Just buy an easy out kit, use a sharp drill bit, and it will come out. The bolts can't be that hard, they are probably just a grade 2 bolt. Or see if you can twist it out with the vice grips.
Whatever you do, get it out and put a new bolt in.
Next time, just tighten the bolts a little past snug
