Not complete truth here.

I spun my #1 rod bearing, and my oil pressure stayed exactly the same.

Just what I wanted to hear while planning on a h/c swap.

Mines been doing that for two years and its still runnin great. As a matter of fact it ran its best time like that. Just check your oil filter (cut it apart with a pair of tin snips, when its off the car of course) and check it for metal, and keep an eye on your oil pressure. If it was a bering youd lose oil pressure. Hope this helps, Prorac1

I hope so. One of my driver side rockers allways seemed to make a bit more noise then the others.. but it sounds EXACTLY like that.

"when you give it a little throtle and when its comming down. It wont do it when your hammerin on it"

Should i take the valve cover off and try to findout which one it is? It sucks cause if i buy 1.6 rr's im going to haveto get new valve springs and pushrods too. Im going to keep driving it and see what happens. I hope it is that though.

Prorac1 - How do you like the plug access with the BBK's? I know i love mine. Also, how did you run that time? I cant do that and i have a cam.. but no gears.

1. pull valve covers
2. drain oil and check for metal

Yah, stop guessing and driving it around. Take Heatmaker's advice. Especially if it's coming from the driver's side it takes all of about 60 seconds to get the valve cover off.

Re: OMG! Knocking noise... PLEASE tell me its the transmission!

I ran those times with the Th350 and 3800 stall and 3.73 gears. The car pulls a lot harder with the m6 conversion and 4.10 gears. Hoping for beter times with the m6. I love my bbk shorties, and as far as the times, i guess im just lucky, lol. Id still pull a valve cover and cut the oil filter open for good measure. Ill put it to you this way, my lifter noise is a DEAD ringer for a exhaust (header) leak. Hope this helps, any more questions about the set up im runnin feel free to pm me. Thanks Prorac1

If you are running your engine 1 1/2 quarts low on oil and then doing burnouts...well, you get what you get. If it sounds like the rod knock video, then that's probably what it is.

I will pull the valve cover tomorrow and change the oil.

I'd take it over to GMR Speed in Hinkley/Brunswick. Have them take a look and hear it run.

Well.. i drained my oil. No metal shaveings! Whew. Then cut open my oil filter.

There is quite a bit of metal shaveings in the filter. Im going to pull off the passanger side valve cover. Its louder then normal. I hope its a rocker but i doubt it. I dont know what to do!

Maybe youll luck out and its a broken spring or something simple. If not you might be looking into some serious financial investment in your motor.

Well, i pulled the passanger side valve cover and everything looks fine. No metal shaveings, nothing broken/bent(from what i can tell) ..i think its time to buy a gun. I guess i should start looking for a 355/383.

Im going to continue to drive it. It dosint sound any worse but this morning when i turned around a corner she stalled out. Oil pressure useto be around 55-60 on cold startup. Now its around 45 and it bounces around alot. So i take it i spun a bearing?

I'd seriously drive it straight to GMR Speed and have them diagnose exactly what it is. That might make the difference between a fixable problem vs a fatal problem. It might also be a $25 lifter or $15 spring vs a $2000 rebuild. Rather than driving it till it quits or throws a rod into something.

Re: OMG! Knocking noise... PLEASE tell me its the transmission!

Yeah.. i have off work tomorrow. I will give them a call i guess. $2000? I was thinking more in the range of $5000. Thats with doing my heads ect though.. I dont understand why this is happening. I dont totally beat the **** out of it. I just changed the oil not even 1k miles ago. The damn motor only has 70k miles on it.

Anyways.. i re-adjusted the rockers and it still makes the noise. When i went to auto zone to buy the oil there was a guy that useto have a built up LT1 from what he said. I told him i think i have a spun bearing.. he listened to it and agreed.
