OMG Cant Drive Car!!!!

ok guys it heats up to redline in at most 3 mins. I was trying to drive it home and it took me 5.5 hours to travel 10 blocks or so because i would have to stop and let it cool down for an hour. Ive takin it to the shop and they cant figure it out, replaced radiator cap, waterpumps still good, new thermostat (like 6months or so) so i bought anotherone today just to make sure its not that. And when i turn on the heater to try and cool it it blows cold air! and sometimes the fans that blow into the cab make a funny sound but they still blow cold air. The coolant overflow also spills out alot of coolant into my passengerside front wheel well. What is up with my car

Your heater core might be clogged.

if its blowing cold air out of the heater that means the heater coil is clogged up. since the antifreeze cant get past the clogged heater coil the car over heats. you can either bypass the heater coil or replace it.

Sounds like you are getting no circulation. Could be water pump, clogged radiator, bad thermostat. You should be able to see circulation with the radiator cap off after the thermostat opens. Got plenty of coolant and have the air bled out of the system?

i had a pickup in the shop the other day that had the same prob. it had a cracked head still run great but overheated in less than 300 yards
my machine shop said its common for the head to have small crack and it opens and closes as the engine heats up
but that was a chevy truck (94 model) with iron heads hope thats not it but if you cant fix it id be worried about that

Mine overflowed out the filler cap when I had air pockets in my system. Your problem sounds like its at the core...the heater core!

also the heater didnt work on the truck either
the strang thing is it would idle without getting hot and when you reved it it overheated but you could touch the valve cover and would not be hot to the touch but the guage would be in the red new heads fixed it

Guys think about it!!!! I have seen this many times, pushing coolant out the over flow and the heater doesnt blow hot. Sounds like a classic head gasket, compression in the cooling system, sounds like time to some serious investagating. Maybe I'm way off but those are 2 major sighns.
