7/16 > 3/8 > Stock 3/8

The wont necessarily fail, but they will flex more. Probably not necessary on smaller cams, but I'd go for it on the big boys.

that is not recommended and cutting corners on something so cheap like that is just silly, your leaving power on the table.

If you get NSA rockers and decide to upgrade the valve train a lil later you will be better off. EX. let's say that you need to jump your install height .050, you can do that with +.050 locks and the correct retainers, this works great but leaves you with less area from the top of the locks/retainer to the top of the valve. So, in this casr NSA's would be better to have.

I'd also recommend the 7/16 studs over the 3/8 especially with the extended rpm range that the cc306 will operate in, they will be more stable (less flex) Trick Flow has a better set of Guide plates to use with NSA's.

i did not plan to used the parts I did but at the time comp 7/16 rockers are were on national back order with no set date on when they would be avalible. So I used the parts I could get I have no regrets and they have been on my car working for almost 5 1/2 years they have out lated a 12 bolt rear end, a t56 and three clutches. so they have seen lots of hard duty. that is real world expericne not theroy. sure 7/16 are bigger and stronger but are they nessary? at this point i have not reason to beleive so.

Following the recommendations, I've decided to go with 7/16". Looking at Summit's site, I can't seem to find the GMMP 7/16" guideplates. The only one I found is for a big block. They sell them individually...how many will I need? I'm thinking 8 sets.

Is this the right one?

Also, I couldn't find the 7.2" pushrods in 7/16" size. If someone can provide a link to the proper hardened pushrods for the CC306 & 1.6 rocker setup, I'd be forever grateful!

I totally forgot about hydraulic lifters. What would be the best for this setup?

I really appreciate all the help in making sure my LT1 with stock heads & valves gets the right components for the CC306 cam.
