Re: Old LT1 Problem never resolved

Sorry I didn't see your other post about the install until now, but I can tell you that it is very easy. No, I don't have any pictures, but the guys at elitesparkplugs.com give you all the directions and tech. assistance you will ever need. Wires are included. I have headers and I used the radiator mount kit, I ran the wires in the stock positions and you can't even tell from looking at the top of the engine, if I didn't tell you that I have a delteg, you would never know, just by looking. It took me about three [3] hrs to install.

what about timing chain slack-these cars must have atleast 60k+ on them.
Also I am wondering if it is becuase of the newer fuels and bolt on mods that is creating an insufficent spark problem?? (ignition upgrade needed)

I used my snap-on scanner and found everything appears to be in spec.

If it is the opti, which is quite possible, put in a complete brand new gm one. Do not screw around with reman crap from a parts house. I put that junk in and had to replace it within 4 months. An opti change is a major pia. Get it scanned with a tech 2 by a dealer, they will narrow it down exactly. my .02 -foz

Re: Old LT1 Problem never resolved

do exactly what i did and it will solve your problem,

the i.c.m. mod should solve your problem, i cant see how an opti could run great when the cars cold and horrible when the cars hot. i had posted last week and asked that question about the opti and not 1 person replied back to me with an answer.

it seems to me that if the car runs good when cold that theres nothing in the opti that would cause it to run bad hot,

my car was surging horribly when it was hot, i did the icm mod and it solved the problem 100%

now, last week my car started popping and sputtering and would only go like 10 mph to the floor but only when the car was hot. i got replys telling me to replace the opti ( as a matter of fact almost every reply was that my opti was bad )

i didnt want to believe that it was because it ran good cold. i replaced the i.c.m. and it ran great and still does, no stumble, popping or nothing.

i still might replace my coil because it`s old but my problem was deffinatly the icm.

autozone sells one for 59.95 and if it doesn`t work just clean it up and return it, it cant help to try that first.
