I fail to see why you "need" a double roller, i have multiple boltons but run a single? I beleive gm performance, lunati and cloyes all make a DR setup.

Re: OK so I need a Double roller timing chain

they do, but are they really worth the money? i would rather spend the money on a hp gainer instead of something i don't need. a D.R. really isn't worth it's money untill you are making over say 7,000 rpm. your stocker should be fine up to 600hp, or 7,000rpm. but it's your money, and i'll check for you, but you should be able to use any double roller for a 350.
good luck.

Thanks silver. I know I am lazy but at least I can admit it

As for y I am one of the crazy few who kept a unvented opti and a stock chain when I put a cam in and i still rev her pasyt 6500

Also it is 250 for a double roller chain and E/W/P or I could spend that on a H/D GM unit. Humm tough choice

If you a top notch double roller the Rollmaster is hard to beat. I bought mine from Scoggins. Don't remember the PN off hand, but it's the one for the factory roller set ups. You will have to take metal out of the back of the timing cover to clear the chain. It's the lightest chain & billet gear set I've used to date on a SBC. Runs in the $90 range... WAY better deal then the crappy GM LT4 sets.

Go with the double roller and a csi electric water pump. This is the way that I went. I had to clearance my timing cover by placing lithium grease on the chain and turning the engine over, then whereever the grease/rubbing was obvious i took my dremel and took some metal out of the timing chain cover. It fits good now and the double roller has little to no play at all. Huge improvement over my stock chain.

Re: OK so I need a Double roller timing chain

RPM should not be the only factor to determine stress on a timing chain. A timing chain becomes stressed by spring pressure, RPM, ramp rates as well as cam design (due to the effects of compressing and expanding spring cancellation).

I dont know why more people dont run double rollers. You can get an electric WP for under 200 and a double roller for about $50 that is 10x stronger than stock. Much cheaper than LT4 HD and frees up HP with the water pump. Sounds like win/win to me.

the cloyes double roller for hyd. roller cams(non lt1 unless you have the ele. wp) is 79.99 so why not get it? its cheap as hell..its the same thing has the LT1 double roller without the 300$ price tag(or wp hole)

Not everyone wants an electric water pump. It's a liability on a daily driver.

Re: OK so I need a Double roller timing chain

Well I went ahead and ordered the Coyles and CSI from summit 248 shipped to my door. I dont drive the car everyday and I really want to be able to cool my car better at the track as it is always hot here (at least when my car seems to be running) Taking a little material off the cover dosent scare me either.

Thanks again Silver
