Ok to re-use gasket?
Ok to re-use gasket?
I had to pull the drivers side head off of the motor to install the oil galley plug that is half-way covered by the head since my engine builder decided not too. My question is can I reuse my fel-pro 1074 head gasket? The gasket has seriously been taken out of the wrapping slapped on with my heads and has been sitting on the engine stand for a month and thats it, when I pulled the head I checked the gasket and didnt see anything bad about it just leary because the head was torqued on.
you cant reuse headgaskets after theve been torqued, plus why take any chances your sig says a lil spray.just think how pissed youll be if it doesnt hold and you have to take it all apart again.these cars are such a pain to replace the headgasket.i take extra precautions on all of my cars. i used to use copper gaskets,o-rings and can of super 300,but now i just run cometics.

IF they don't leak. On a fresh build where you can specify the correct surface they are nice. Otherwise, there is about a 1/3 chance of seepage. As far as re-using the Fel Pro, no.
