I THINK Autozone will scan it for free, not 100% sure though

 

called them and they said they dont scan thsoe cars....

 

Is it just idling funny and throwing the code? Or is it running bad as well? It took my car a couple days to adjust to the headers and get the idle right.

The knock sensor could be overreacting, and pulling timing. Id check little things first, like that the plug wires are right. But if thats right, you might try talking to Dave Wilson on houston-f-body, he has LT1 edit for OBDI and can scan and tune it for $20.

 

well....it ran ok cold fort alil bit, then got on it and it ran strong than to weak while accelereating fast..like pulling hard then stoping a lil bit then pulling hard again....what i am thinking is that i had those OTVC wires and i didnt put the opti spark metal plugs far enough up..im guessing they have to be like 1/4 inch out of the boot maybe....

OMG.....this freaking sucks.....now when the SES light comes on it starts to RUN like **** from there and gets worse and worse..b4 the ses light it ran fine..now its horriable...
PLEASE HELP..this cant be ignition...

ok check your o2 wire harnesses and o2 wires.go to autozone anyway b/c im pretty sure they can scan your car.do u have a laptop or know anyone with a laptop,load datamaster or freescan but you ll have to buy a cable to hook up to your car.that will tell you what codes u have and whats goin on with all your sensors.

my pass side o2 sensor harness was fried so i had to cut em off and heat wrap the wires together from the harness coming from the car to the new ac delco sensors.btw u have ac delco o2's rite?if not get them it might clear your problem.i think their 35$from jason cromer 18777268295
anyway now i have a SES that comes on 15sec after start up and stays on,but the car runs fine just at a red light at idle it sucks a**,lopey and a miss or poping here and there.im gonna sodder then next and make sure i didnt cross any of the wires.

the bad thing about o2 extensions is that it could mess up the resistance or sumthin or so i heard.i dunno

 

well when i got the headers, the guy siad he had new o2's in there but when i took them out they looked all black..and when i took the o2's out of my stock manifolds they looked alot cleaner than th ones in my hookers...well there was no way i could reach the connectors withouth the extensions...i have no clue what kind they are..and i figured since my o2 sensors were working in my stock ones, might as well take them out and put them in the hookers right? or will that wotn work....well all wires are out of the way of the headers...nothing is touching them..liek you said when you come to a stop it idles, pops, and lopes too..but after i drove it for like 7 min it really got worse to where i could barely press the pedal and it would miss, big time.....i have no idea what to do, and when i took it to autozone they only had the obd2 scanner...i have labtop i could prob take out there, but where can i get those programs for my car? and where is a website i can look them up?//

ok do a search on cz28 or fbody.com for the websites to freescan or datamaster.im pretty sure both are free.the cable cost around 100 bucks and dont know that website either i think its akm cables or sumthin,do a search.well the o2 are gonna be black in side because the exhaust is basically blackening them.sounds exactly like my situation a while back i had a crazy missfire that was unbearable when driving the only bad thing is i did a bunch of things then it was fixed so i dont really know what fixed it.im pretty sure it was the new ac delco o2 though.if i were u thats what i would do order the new o2 from jason cromer put em in and go from there.if u still throw a code get the cable and scan it and see whats up.

 

Its sounds like burnt spark plug wires to me, sometimes you cant even see the damage.If you cant figure it out otherwise, you might go with some high heat wires.]

Also is the motor making any noise? How long ago did you do that cam install?

 

sorry i havent had the cam install yet....have all the engine stuff sittign next to me..
