ok, idle when turn on is good.
after about 5 minutes of running, it runs like crap. idle drops to about 500, really rough and seems almost unstable. drivability is small surge, lot of restriction when i hit the gas...almost like its fighting with me??
brand new opti, cam, crank, cooling system, plugs, wires, timing chain, belt, alt, battery.
someone told me that an O2 sensor can do that. first few minutes of the car running and it reads nothing (wide bank or something like that) then after a few minutes it reads and calculates what the sensor is telling the computer, then it controlls the idle that way??
95 LT1 is my car. O2 sensors are to the best of my knowlege to be original, and the car has a gutted cat. i have no SES lights popping on, and have had none since my engine rebilud.
feel free to ask me any drivabilty or other symptom questions and that will help me too.

Re: OK...my car is idling like something really really bad, and i need my car tomorrow
Do you happen to have a noticable exhaust leak? An exhaust leak can draw air into the exhaust and make the o2 sensor think the engine is lean. You might also check that the air ducting is tight with no cracks and holes from the throttle body to the mass air.

Man, who rebuilt your motor??? Seems you are having a fit with that car from the posts I've read of yours. Im having fits myself but yours seem to be in large almost overwhelming bundles.

i didnt have the top end done, just the bottom end and the front. ran out of money. the rest of this **** just happened about a month later, and seemed like all at once..at least once the head gasket is done the only thing left is the fuel pump and the tranny lol
