ok to mix up 5w30 and 10w30?

ok to mix up 5w30 and 10w30?

I just noticed i got 3 10w30 and 2 5w30... and now that the oil is drained out i have no way of getting it changed

is it ok to mix that up? wouldnt hurt right? it'll be like 8w30 now i guess :P

you just mixed yourself an 8w30 cocktail. enjoy. you can mix weights, mix dino and synthetic, etc without worry.

You'll be fine to mix it. You just won't have quite as good of a cold cranking performance from it as you would with 100% 5w30, that's all.

I actually do it just like that on purpose. It doesnt get cold here and I dont want all 10-30 so I mix them. Car has been fine!
