Ok I have a hard starting problem now..

Ok it started last night. It took like 30 secs to get my car started. It will turn over fine seem like it wants to start(kind of sputtering) then it will finally start. today its still doing it but not as long to start. here is what i checked so far.

key on engine off. fuel pressure @ 39-40 psi
engine running at idle fuel pressure is at 39psi
wot 36.5 psi
right after shutting car down, 30 psi
after and hour of sitting 20 psi.
checked vacuum line on intake side for the fpr and no sign of gas.

also got these codes with my scanner/po101,po200,po300.po0412,p1222

Opti maybe? I got the car with 38k and now have 90 without ever changing out the opt1
What do you guys think?

Your Opti is not the issue, you need to troubleshoot your codes. If you wrench your own car, buy a Helm manual and follow what it says for the following...

DTC P0101 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Performance
DTC P0200 Injector Control Circuit
DTC P0412 Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Relay Control Circuit Bank 1
DTC P1222 Injector Control Circuit Intermittent

mine has the same symptoms except no codes are set adn it only takes 10 seconds at most to start, and only does it if its been sitting for a few days atleast... any clues on what could be bad?

hey mine does kinda the same thing as of late, if it sits for a few days it'll take about a good 2-3 second crank to start....but once its started, if i shut it off and start it again, boom....as soon as i turn that key, she's started. Im going to look at my fuel pressure again, see if its dropping...but i dont want to leave a fuel pressure tester on there for a day or two.

I am having the same problem. My car will not start until cranked several times. This happens mostly when cold started or if sits for some time.

It feels as if no enough spark to get it starting. On some of the cranking attemps, it almost starts then it wan't.

Any idea of what could be the problem. A friend says it could be that the line does not hold the fuel pressure because of maybe a crack or leak.

Or it could be the check valve in the pump. I was talking to someone and they said this is usally the issue with high milage fuel pumps. Mine for example, with key ON is 40 psi, when pump is done priming it drops to 0 in like 3 seconds. At idle its about 39 psi, and when i turn it off, it drops to 0 in like 3 seconds, I think the presure is draining back into the tank, or the fuel. I dont know how it works. But if you say your fuel presure is fine then its not it, some of you mite need to replace the pump, others, mite just need some plugs/wires/coil/ICM hehe

I have checked the fuel pressure with key on. It was about 45+psi. After the pump goes off it still the same, Waited about 5 minutes and there is no pressure drop.

Makes me think it is not the fuel pump lossing pressure. Checked using the EZ link scanner and there was no codes about that.

I think it is either the coil or the opti.
