ok I got it in, but....
ok I got it in, but....
I've got my SLP CAI in....but
I'm worried that the MAF isn't positioned right.....the pictures that came with my directions are unreadable so I can't compare.....
There's rubber tabs that are on the intake elbow that look like they're out of place. Is it possible for the MAF or something else to be positioned wrongly? The CAI fits in there and it seems everything else does, but I'm just uneasy about the look of the elbow. The MAF plug reaches just fine so that leads me to believe it is indeed positioned correctly.
Is there anything anyone can tell me, or direct me to some pictures of this procedure? I've searched and the step-by-step process on projecttransam.com doesn't work. (website doesn't come up)
THanks in advance.

Re: ok I got it in, but....
Yeah mine looks like that......I was just looking at engine bay pics I took a few months ago and comparing them, and everything's kosher.
I think I have the MAF tilted up towards the firewall a bit more than it was, but it's not causing any problems with the fitment of anything. The CAI fits right in there like a glove and my MAF plug reaches just fine and nothing is resting on anything where it shouldn't be.
The only hassle was getting the two air filters clamped on from under the car. Man, what a bitch. But it's all on now, I just have to put like two more bolts under the car where the air deflector is. I drove it to dinner tonight and I didn't get any SES lights or notice anything funny, so apparently I did it all right.
I'll take pics maybe tomorrow.

Re: ok I got it in, but....
Well guys, the more I drive it the more I feel a difference.....I took it to my friend's house tonight (after driving it to dinner earlier) and on the way home just now I took it down the divided highway by my house for a run or two.......seems like she's got a little more jump in her step and overall is more peppy. Acceleration is improved and WOT just feels better.
Some of it may just be my imagination but the majority of it is definitely real. I think it was a good $190 spent. Plus, it looks a whole lot more cooler than the stock intake.
Pictures tomorrow.

The K&N is more difficult to install........you have to drill holes and stuff.....I'm not exactly sure what you have to do but I remember reading the install directions online.
