is this an ok cam

hey guys just gettin my car back together and was just wondering what your thoughts were on this custom cam selection

240/240
.562/.562 w/ 1.6 rr
105 lsa

engine is a new 383 4 bolt main, stock ported heads to match the cam, 11.2:1 cr stock ignition, stock pcm but with a dyno tune when shes running, 42 lb injectors,

rest of mods in sig

will this car be considered driveable because i would like to take it out here and there from time to time.

car used to be a le2 383 setup and was daily driven for 3 years. just looking to see if anyone else has any experience with a similar set up

Looks like a stout and lopey camshaft, although you might want a little more stall to see the most out of it.

Hopefully the person who spec'ed that cam knows a helleva lot more than most of the folks on here.

i have a 245/253 .612/.612 on a 107lsa in s 12.3:1 385 lt4.. are you sure that the 105 isnt the intake centerline? that is what mine is anyway. i am guessing that is an LE cam? anyway.. mine is pretty hairy but i can still drive it around. the only think that i would like different is its louder then ****.

it is not an le specd cam its supposed to be matched to the heads (stock ported still waiting on paper work on the heads) kaltech installed and tuned everything

Brian is an excellent tuner. He tuned my cam only set up(he will be tuning my new set up soon) . Is the new heads/cam set up gonna outperform the LE2 set up by much? If the new cam was meant to perform best with the heads, then I don't see why a different cam is needed. You feel it should be bigger for a stroker?

Re: is this an ok cam

i know brian is an excelent tuner.. i however think the cam is to big for my car.. i do not know how much better it is over the le2 setup.. i daily drove my le2 383 for 3 years without much issues... i think the lsa should have been more like a 110... were gonna try more with the tune and take it from there... i also have a bunch of oil leaks that need to be adressed first

Re: is this an ok cam

ok... i have a little update... i read somewhere about adjusting the throttle blades so it gets more air at idle and slotting the tps or adjust for proper voltage... figured i would give it a try... cracked the blades open a little bit and adjusted the tps so it would read .68v at idle. started the car she started right up no foot on the gas to keep it from stalling out keep in mind the car hasent been started in about a week too. so im not getting that much cam surge right now but i havent driven it alot to notice... im just happier that i got it to idle cold without me holding my foot on the gas..

still have some bugs to work out and will get more info hopefully tommorow when the car goes back to the shop

Re: is this an ok cam

a couple people sugested that now what is the difference between doing that and cracking the blades some with the idle screw and adjusting the tps... is one better then the other?

Re: is this an ok cam

Both methods achieve the same thing, so honeslty, I don't know the advantages of one method over the other... hopefully somebody can chime in as I'm also interested to know.
