is it ok to use 15w 50 synthetic oil with lucas oil stabilizer? i was previously using 5w 30 synthetic. but my oil intake leak is getting worse and i dont have the cash to fix it untill the spring. so is it ok to use this weight untill i get the cash to fix the leak.
thanks

I would never, ever touch the stuff after reading this. It helps the oil to stick to gears, but the aeration is horrible!

No way would I do that. That 15w50 is too thick, plus adding stabilizer!! Keep with the 10w30 and just add some.
BTW the intake fix doesn't cost much, some RTV, new intake gaskets and it's pretty easy.

That Lucas stuff is Crap. John (Fastz) is right. Doesn't take but $40.00 to fix the intake leak ($15.00 Right Stuff RTV.....and what ever for the intake gasket ). There are a whole bunch of sites that teach you how to do it and do a search on it. WIll take you about 2 full days (not labor). About 3 hours to do the labor with an average tool set and 24 hours to let the RTV have a good seal.
