oils leakssssssss

Guys,

Had my car for 6 years. First 5, not a drip. Recently had leak caused by the crank seal which I changed. Now, not 1, 2, or 3, but four areas the dealer described as sweating. I see oil spots. Can not take apart the whole engine, What gives. I was running mobile 5w30. Now using Castrol same grade. Is there anyting I can do to seal these back up. Some kinda additive, different oil...

Depends if the drip is from a seal or a gasket. Seals can be swelled with an oil like valvoline high milage. But non rubber gaskets will not be effected. Of course if the drip comes from sensors or plugs screwed into the block, they won't benefit from the oil either.

Iam on my 3rd LT1 right now and have repaired many leaks in the past, one thing I hate the most is an oil leak so if my car has one I fix it.

If you changed the front crank seal Iam guessing that you are trying to correct a leak from the front. The T/A that I now currently own developed an oil leak from the front of the intake manifold that had to be fixed.

The 2 Z28's that I have owned in the past have leaked from the opti seal and water pump drive seal and I had to replace those seals.

If a leak is coming from the rear of engine could be intake, rear main, oil cooler "O" ring (if equipped) or low oil sensor.

Last but not least... the oil pan can leak from front or rear.

Without determining where the oil is leaking from you have no direction to attack the problem. I would recommend adding a special dye in your oil and under a fluorescent light it will illuminate indicating where the oil is leaking. This would be the most cost effective method and you won't be guessing and spending $$$ where not needed!
