Oil pump problems?

Ok, I have been noticing that my oil gage fluctuates like crazy. It never gets real low nor real high. It just bounces alot only in idle, never in acceleration. Seems linda weird. Also something else. Today when I went to accelerate real hard my car kinda "farted" like a real small backfire. So I just let up off of the gas. Then I tried it again a few times and it never happened again. I have a new opti, wires, and plugs. Could a bad o2 cause that? Any help on either will be appreciated! LAter.

sounds like the oil pressure sender to me... nothing $20 bucks can't fix at your local autozone

as for the backfire? do u have exhaust on your car? u could just be running a lil rich? mine does that too.. it's pretty normal to some extent

I'll check into that oil pressure sender. As for the exhaust I only have a flowmaster welded into the stock, cheesy pipes. I didn't do it lol. Thanks for the info.
