Oil Pump install

Hey I was getting the oil pump on tonight and the oil pump drive shaft and the pump dont connect. Is there a intermediate shaft or what? I need to know what to tell the parts store to get. Will advance auto have one? Also this engine didnt come with any front timing cover studs are they needed or can i run with out them

Re: Oil Pump install

Let's see, there is the oil pump drive that is in the lifter valley, the drive shaft that connects from the drive to the pump and the pump. Now, what is it you are missing?

You can buy the dowel pins. They are handy for placing the cover on.

I need the drive shaft. I was looking on advance auto website and they call it a intermediate shaft. Or a gm part number will do too... Thanks again
