Oil pump drive sheered today :D

Well I was tunning my car (tranny) and on the last pull I backed aff and as soon as i did i started to looks pressure. Luckily i was pullinf into my buddies driveway. So i pulled the vavle cover and no oil was comming up.

I ended up pulling the intake and checking the oil pump drive and sure enough there is only 4 teeth on it and there messed up too.

Where will the peices go to after they break? Should i pull the pan and change the pump also. I am gonna manually crank the motor to check the cam and see if its fine.

I beleive i have a 95 motor in my car (87 iroc lt1 swap). Is there a difference between 94-95 oil pump drives?

Also What should i replace it with? Now would probably be a good time to do a cam BUT i dont feel like spending another 800ish on a cam and springs when i may need a tranny build.

I will post pics tonite showing it.

UPDATE

i went thru 5 of them in 2 years , i just got rid of the Melling high volume pump and put a standard volume high pressure pump. Gonn a start it up tomorrow see what happens, i know for a fact it was the oil pump cuz everytime i sheared one off i changed the whole assembly with a new one, then the last time i even replaced the camshaft and a whole new assembly for the oil drive, and still ripped it apart after a few months.

I dont understand why i cant use a high volume pump but oh well.

Well I decided Im gonna buy a crap load of crappy oil and keep pouring to try to flush out the motor. And buy a few filters and change them out a bunch of times to try to get everything outta the motor. I wanted to do a cam swap etc, but I dont feel like spending more money right now.

So im crossing my fingers that all goes well!!!!!

The pump i am not sure the motor was professionally build prior to me getting it.
