Oil pump drive geat???
Oil pump drive geat???
I just brought some new goodies for the car, and I feel pretty good now about it, but I think there is one thing I'm forgetting. On the back of the lifter valley there is a a plastic something or another you have to remove to install the cam. I don't remember what it's called right now becasue I have a bad headache, but it deals with the oil pump drive gear on the cam. It's made of plasic, and I've known of guys who had these things break on em after a cam swap. Does anyone know who sells metal replacement piece? if there is such a thing?
Re: Oil pump drive geat???
There is no metal replacement. More preformance sells a metal safty to keep it from jumping out of the hole($20.00).
I have had the machine shop duplicate the plastic piece with an aluminum piece(pricey)

At best you should buy a new one. More performance went out of business, so you will have to look elsewhere for oil pressure saver bracket. I would get a bracket too, just in case. It could save you a motor if the part breaks and stops running you're oil pump
