Any way to test opti off car?

Hey guys, I tested the black PCM connector yesterday, and I got no hi or low resolution pulse. I then ohmed out the wires all the way to the opti connector and there are no breaks in the wires.

The opti is brand new, as well as the opti harness. Any ideas?

I pulled the opti off and double checked everything was put together correctly and it all seemed fine. I was just looking to see if I could test the opti sensor so I can make sure the opti good.

Thanks
Matt

Connect the opti to the harness and rotate it by hand. The igition switch should be on. You should hear the injectors pulsing when the rotor is turned manually.

Kind of a dumb question but, if the opti is off the car, connector in and I have a noid light hooked up, it should start pulsing, correct?

If you are talking about having a noid light on the injector connector, the fuel injection only uses the low-res pulse. So, this does not confirm the high-res pulse.

The best way would be to have an oscilloscope to monitor both the low-res and the high-res pulses -- either, both at once with a dual-trace scope or one at time with a single trace scope. But, the frequency of the waveform turning the Opti-Spark by hand would be low, so you would probably need a storage oscilloscope, which isn't cheap.

Well, I'm at my wits end, the opti and PCM are both new and no wiring is broken going to either but there is no hi or low pulse.

Thanks for the insight.

Any ideas?
