my car has 102,000 and the oil pressure when car is warmed up reads between the the first line and 0 when idling in gear is that normal? and reads a little below the center of the gauge when going down the road im guessing probly around 40 psi.my trans fluid on the other hand was just changed about 6,00 miles ago and it kinda reddish brown,but doesnt smell burnt and shifts great,altough it goes into overdrive when i dont want it to i just kick down on it to go into third i can probley change that with a programmer to shift later,so it doesnt to overdrive so soon
Although the psi seems low the difference between idle and driving dosen't (mine idles at 20-30 and driving 60-80). I would change the oil sending unit before worrying about the pressure. As far as the look of the tranny fluid is concerned, unless you had the fluid "flushed" while running (more expensive, $60-$90), a typical drain and fill will leave the majority of the old fluid trapped in the torque converter so that even after a "fresh" change your fluid will look old right away.
i would also change the oil pressure sending unit. i have the same problem as you. i changed the sending unit and it helped the psi a little bit. it reads about a consistant 5 psi higher now. i am guessing that i need a new pump, a rebuild, or my pickup is clogged. i am not sure.

Obviusly changing the sending unit does nothing to oil pressure, so save your $ as long as old one is working. Instead hook up mechanical gauge and check what the real pressure is.
Although normally LT1 oil pressure is higher, I wouldn't worry yet, even if mechanical gauge confirms what you see now.
