Right behind the intake manifold on the back side of the block.

As we can see from the notes Shoebox added to his photo, the 94 can have its oil pressure sensor in two different locations, depending on whether it was produced "early" or "late" in the model year.

It's on the side of the block right above the oil filter. Jack it up and take a look...you can't miss it.

Shoebox has a photo of the location, and the thread size. My (very late) 94 had the sensor on the top of the block. I connected a line for a mechanical oil pressure guage to the port above the filter.

I have a '94 and mine is located on the left hand side of the block by the filter (image Shoebox just provided). How do I know? It cracked when I was installing my headers and was leaking everywhere

Can one place the oil pressure sensor where ever they prefer? That is, could I take my '95 and put the oil pressure sensor down on the side above the oil filter and plug the hole on top? Seems like one of the biggest problems with 95+ LT1s is the pressure sensor getting broken or the single wire being pinched and on the side of the block it seems like it'd be a better location.

You can put the pressure sensor in either location. Not sure if the 93 sensor is the same shape and has the same fittings as the one that goes on top of the block. Maybe someone with a 93 (or early 94) could look at Shoebox's photo and tell us if it physically the same sensor.

Shoebox's parts # list show two different part numbers for the sensors, so they might not be the same.

just wondering if there's an advantage/disadvantage to the sensor being located above the oil filter vs behind the intake other than it might be easier to get to above the oil filter?

Both locations will give you the correct oil pressure.

so above the oil filter was just the old location on previous camaros & then they put it behind the intake on later models for no reason at all? is it safer to have it higher up on the engine as an early warning when it begins to fail or no? just wondered if there was any relevance to the relocation & safeguarding major engine failure or not............thanks
