There's a special socket to fit the sensor, it's longer than a standard deep socket and should be available at most auto stores. Here's a photo from Shoebox's site for the location on the back of the intake just below the EGR valve for 95 - 97 years:

i just changed mine out. i used a large *** socket that was enough to go over it and used a quarter drive w/ an adapter to go onto the socket. out in 5 minutes.

if you can't find a socket big enough, take off the egr valve and then its easy to get to.

On my '93 I was able to use an open end wrench on it. I know the location is different between our cars so you may not have the space to use one, sorry if I'm no help.

Re: oil pressure sending unit...PLEASE HELP!

sorry to dig this up (it's not very old anyway), but i just wanted to say thanks because i didn't know the socket was available. i just swapped all my 94 stuff to my 95 body and the oil pressure gauge wasn't working so i'm making a mechanical oil gauge to test it out and was looking at what a PITA it was going to be to get that sending unit off. i went and bought the socket and it took maybe a minute to get the sending unit off.

BTW it's not just 95-97 that the location is below the EGR valve. the late year model 94s, like mine, also have it in that location. if you have the dual speed fans then you have the late year model and the sending unit should be there behind the intake.
