Oil Pressure Question

Hello, I have a '97 Camaro SS and have a question about my oil pressure, when I fire up the car the oil pressure reads about 70 psi and when under load it reads above 40 psi about 42/43. Now at idle or sitting at a light it drops to above 20 psi and fluctuates up and down between 20 and 30, when I accelerate it's holding steady above 40 psi constantly with no drop, it only drops at idle. Is this something to worry about? I'm using Amsoil Zrod 10w-30. Thanks for your time and efforts towards this question.

Re: Oil Pressure Question

That's pretty normal operation and pressures look fine. Pressure is higher when the engine is cold and oil is thicker.

Re: Oil Pressure Question

Does Amsoil Zrod include a ZDDP additive? If so, no need for that with your LT1's roller cam.
