Question OIL Pressure Question

I noticed that when i first start my car in the morning the oil pressure is around 40psi then once it warms up it drops to around 20psi . it goes up to 40psi when i'm driving but then when i come to a stop it drops back to 20psi at idle.
is that normal for a 95 camaro LT1. and if not what would the problem be.
any help is appreciated....

That is perfectly normal for your car...My '95 Z28 also settles in nicely at 20psi during a hot idle and quickly jumps up to 40ish between 1500-2000rpms at normal operating temps...

Although my car's oil pressure is a good 55 or so during a cold start after sitting all night...

Your car is fine bro,

Mike

Re: OIL Pressure Question

oil is thicker when it is cold so you will get better pressure when you first start the engine up, but you numbers look fine.

Re: OIL Pressure Question

You've got the right idea with the "Better safe than sorry" attitude

I just wanted to use this smiley!
