Unhappy Oil pressure Question

Ok from the beginning. The clutch went out and the car sat for a week. Got the new clutch in and now the oil pressure isnt right. Ive never seen any problems out of the pressure gauge. The oil level is in the operating range but the gauge is telling me that the engine only has about 19 psi. Normally she runs at 35 at idle and about 40-45 moving. Oh yeah and the idle has come up to about 1100 rpm from 900. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Im only 23 and Im losing my hair and bankroll for this car.
Thanks Red

Re: Oil pressure Question

You might have broken the sensor when you were installing the clutch.

Re: Oil pressure Question

Where is the sensor located? I believe the the level indicator is on the side of the oil pan or is it the pressure sensor?
Thanks Red

Re: Oil pressure Question

No it is not supposed to be loose, or able to wiggle.
It sounds like you may have cracked the outer pastic housing or something.
As far as the idle, Make sure you have all you O2's and everything plugged in!

Re: Oil pressure Question

Cool I can replace a $17 sensor, better than another rebuild. Thanks again.

Re: Oil pressure Question

Check for vacum leaks, could be the cause of the high idle.
