Oil pressure problems??
Under normal driving conditions at 60 to 65 mph I run good oil pressure at about 50 to 55 psi. Idle pressure is about 20 to 25 psi and through the rpm range the oil pressure climbs just fine. No problem here.
The problem is when I take it from a stop and get on it real hard and run it to red line through the gears (automatic) the oil pressure will start off climbing normal and hit almost 60 psi but after about 3 to 5 seconds of wide open throttle the oil pressure will drop right off and sometimes to zero. The way I noticed it was my check guages light came on and I saw no oil pressure.
Again if I get on it swiftly but not wide open throttle right away the oil pressure comes up normal but hard wide open throttle and it will drop off.
Oil is not full of foam, oil level is about 1/3 quart above full mark, oil change is about 750 miles old. I am thinking possibly oil filter but I always use a AC Delco filter with Mobil One fully synthetic.
I am also thinking possibly oil pressure sensor?
If it were mains or rod bearings wouldn't the oil pressure stay low? If it were a windage problem or pick up problem wouldn't the oil pressure drop off when at higher rpm's? It only drops off if I take the rpm's up quick and stay there.
I am looking for other opinions and ideas and also if anyone else has experienced this.

I have been using the AC Delco filters for about 45K and no problems.
Thanks for the reply.
