Hello i just recently bought a 95 z28 camaro with 118,000. miles
At idle the oil pressure guage is at the quarter mark(19-20 psi) on the guage when i accelerate the oil pressure riises to the half way mark (40 psi). Is this normal or does it indicate a bigger problem? When i first bought it i noticed that the harmonic balancer hub had a bolt missing and the engine would vibrate becauase of it. I immediately fixed it. but i have no idea how long it was like that. I had never noticed a drop in oil pressure before that. It was only after it was changed that i noticed it.

 

For a stock setup it is normal. Mine idles at 18-19 once it warms up and rises past the 1/2 way mark under acceleration.

 

very normal, your engine only needs 5PSI for each 1000 RPM, aslong as you have that then you are good.
