I recently just changed my oil and for some reason, whenever i rev my engine past 5000 (when I am accelerating...not just letting it sit that high) my oil pressure drops to the red, similar to where it sits when it is in neutral, and the check engine light comes on. The pressure slowly comes back up after about a five second delay and the check engine light then disapears.

What is causing this? Is it a problem with the gauge? I just checked the level of the oil and it is prefectly normal, too.

i'd say the pump, but i can also bet ur sensor has gone mad...
