oil pressure loss

When I start my car my oil pressure is at like 35psi. As the car warms up and runs for a bit it keeps dropping. Sometimes at idle im only getting like 10psi and doesnt go up as much with rpm as it should. Anyone have any ideas? If i wiggle the sender the guage does move a bit.

I would check to make sure the sender is tight and the wiring good, but you may want to attach a mechanical gauge and see if it is correct. 10 PSI is almost way too low I dont like less than 15 to 20 at idle.

Ok i'll try to look at the wiring and verify that the guage is reading correctly. I'm using some form of sythetic but I cant remember what kind.

Re: oil pressure loss

You might try using some good ole 10w30-40 dino to see if it makes any difference. Using a 5w-30 syn or the like might not be the optimum type given the advanced age of your engine. JMHO
