My car is doing the same thing, but it only does it at idle. At cruising rpms it doesn't do it. I tear the filter apart when I do oil changes and I have never found shavings in the filter. But I do have a hv pump, I opened a thread about this a couple months ago but nobody answered it so I figured there was no problem in running it and now I see everyone saying not to run the hv. I did lose pressure once but that was becuse I came down from 110 mph on a hard brake and I'm guessing all the oil went to the front of the pan. It was only for a second but scared the crap outta me. It's strange though it only fluctuates on occasion.

Unhappy oil pressure

I have a 93 TA and about seven years ago my gauge would bottem out under hard braking, i ask a service person about this problem and he said that if the lifters did not chatter the motor still had oil pressure i changed the sendind unit but that did not solve the problem a friend of mine has a z28 and he told me his has the same problem? If anyone knows how to fix this let me know.

Replaced this sensor with a new GM unit. It does the same thing.

I have never noticed the gauge dip under braking, or hard cornering. However, I will try with the braking again, and checking the gauge. Generally when I'm braking I'm looking out the windshield.

So, I'm going to verify oil pressure is fine with a mechanical gauge.

If so, I'll chalk it up to a wiring issue.

The car has done this for 3 years since my rebuild. I most definately would have spun a bearing since that time....

I'm in Canada, so the part # will be different. I don't have it with me regardless.

The cost was $47 TRADE cost. So thats like... oh wait... $47 U.S. as well!

Not sure when I'll get a mechanical gauge on it... but soon.
