Question Oil Pressure Trouble

I have a 94Z28 and I have noticed that my oil pressure gauge seems to kind of jump up and down if I have it at lets say doing 45mph, Also when I am sitting in traffic at idle in drive it moves down right below the last line before the red zone. What do you guys think it could be? Thanks in advance

Oil Pressure Sending Unit possibly... sits on the back of the block behind the intake... I can get a PN for you later or maybe if shoebox sees this thread, he'll most likely have it.

94_Camaro_LT-1,
Would that cause the guage to move like that? Thanks

Yea when they start to go, your gauge will start moving around or sometimes not even give a reading at all...

I don't mean to hijack your thread GMH94z28, but what is everyone's oil pressure usually at during cruising and idle?

my car does the same thing, I read a post about this probably less than a week ago someone suggested that it might be bearings going out and the sensor getting old. You should find it. I know nothing so don't listen to me but my car runs above the middle mark and then when warm and idling it drops just below the 1/4 mark just thought you'd like to know.

Is there any way to check the sensor?
