Oil pickup screen. Loss of Pressure at High G's
Oil pickup screen. Loss of Pressure at High G's
I'm putting a new pump in tomorrow and I was looking at the pickup I bought. It's the Melling and if you've ever looked at the bottom you'll notice that half of it is covered. Here's what it looks like bottom. And it has a slot where the oil can only flow in from the front. I think during acceleration oil is being pushed back into the pan and there is no way for it to be sucked up because there is no slot in the back. I think this is our problem. So what if we cut a small 1.5" slot in the back? What do you guys think. I think it will work. Alot of pickups look like rectangles with no bottoms, so this wouls be a similar design.
