oil pickup

What's a good way to measure and install the tube? My oil pan looks a little deformed on the bottom but no holes or anything.right now the screen is set at 7 5/8 above the block. Is there a known height above the block that works?

Thanx

Modeling clay. I used playdoh, but I think it can expand just a little after you remove it from being compressed. Use a piece of paper to keep that stuff out of the screen(I didn't....nice little mess...). I then cut it in half and measured it.

I ended up with a different pickup than the stock one, but still the same principle. You just need to make sure that the pickup is secured in the pump and does not move.

I think there are some other ways of doing it, but I used the above.

Re: oil pickup

Straight edge and a ruler, straight edge on the pickup, measure to the pan rail....straight release across the pan rails, ruler to the bottom of the pan
