I just broke off that sensor in the oil pan. What is it and where can I purchase a replacement??

it is a oil level sensor. it tell you if your low on oil. I believe I bought mine from napa.

 

On my '98, I bought a plug from O'Rielly's, drilled out the center, tapped it to 1/8 NPT and installed an oil temp guage. To get rid of the SES light, I jumpered the 2 pins in the connector.

In my '96 CMC car, I just plugged it ...

 

Was the level sensor very expensive? Is there someplace on the internet which perhaps sells sensors a bit cheaper?
