steering rack is already unbolted too from my LT header install. I'll be working on this some more today. Thanks for the help guys

When I did my oil pan, I unbolted the y-pipe, removed it completely, removed starter, oxygen sensors, inspection cover from trans, oil filter and oil cooler, then I unbolted engine mounts and put a 2x10 block of wood that was 12ins long under the oil pan and used a jack to lift the engine about 6in. I also had the car on jack stands. I put some blocks of wood in between the engine mounts so it would stay up and removed the jack. I had plenty of room to remove the oil pan without unbolting the k-member. Make sure if you put your car on jack stands to also have something else to support the car if the jack stands fail. I use a combination of cinderblocks and wood.

Thats why i was saying use the engine hoist, you should be able to jack the motor up high enough, if all that is stopping the oil pan, is the kmember, you dont have the motor high enough.
